Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What kind of servers run the EHR Time system and are they shared or dedicated?
A. EHR Time uses several dedicated multi-processor Dell Poweredge fully redundant servers to ensure maximum performance and availability. The EHR Time servers are dedicated, used to serve only EHR Time customers.
Q. How does NetPEO manage disaster recovery?
A. NetPEO has gone through extensive efforts to ensure that disasters don’t occur. But for maximum reliability, we have arranged with our hosting partner, AT&T, to backup EHR Time data on a nightly basis and store backup tapes off site once a week. In the unlikely event of a catastrophic disaster, we can recover customer data from backup tapes within hours.
Q. How reliable is EHR Time?
A. To ensure data reliability, EHR Time uses state-of-the-art servers with redundant fault-tolerant, RAID 5 disk arrays. The servers are housed in a world-class data center, also providing redundant power, network connectivity and fault tolerance at every level.
Q. How secure is my data?
A. All customer data transferred is SSL encrypted and backed-up on tape each evening. For added security, the tapes are taken to a remote location for storage.
Q. Who can access my data?
A. When your company’s data is transmitted over the Internet, the data is encrypted to ensure that the information being transferred is confidential and secure (look for the little lock at the bottom of your browser window). Access to your data is granted only to those holding your company alias, user id and password.
Q. How (and how often) is EHR Time updated with new features?
A. One of the advantages of using an ASP-based application is that you are always using the latest version of the software. Typically, we update the software with new enhancements once a week or every other week. This update usually takes no more than 5 to 10 minutes, during which time the EHR Time service may be unavailable. We do, however, conduct our updates during times when the system is least likely to be used, to ensure the least amount of disruption to service.
Q. Other than a web browser, what other hardware or software do I need to access EHR Time?
A. If you can run a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape and access the Internet, you can access EHR Time.
Q. What happens if the Internet connection on my side goes down?
A. Since EHR Time is a web-based application, you will need to have an Internet connection to use the service. However, even if your permanent Internet connection goes down, you might still be able to access the EHR Time site through a dial-up service such as a local ISP or even AOL. Data Collection Devices are operational without an Internet connection.
Q. When can I access the EHR system?
A. EHR service is accessible to customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Since it is necessary to perform periodic upgrades and maintenance to any system, we have created a “Scheduled Maintenance” page that will post any planned down times. All NetPEO customers will have access to this schedule for planning and convenience purposes.
Q. Is there a limit to how often I can use the EHR system?
A. Use the system as often as you wish, as there is absolutely no limit.
Q. How many employees can I have in the EHR system?
A. EHR does not limit the number of employees you can add to the system – you can have from one to more than 10,000! For companies of more than 300 employees, we encourage customers to contact our implementation department for a smooth and rapid deployment plan.
Q. What type of company is best suited for using EHR?
A. Currently, EHR supports data collection through the Web and traditional data collection terminals, a smart phone or any web enabled device, making it optimal for any business that has employees with access to such devices. The types of businesses are limitless, including dental and medical offices, law offices, call centers, consultants, construction, electricians, daycares, insurance agencies, plumbers, manufacturing, drywall, auto service and many others.
Q. How do my employees log in/out?
A. Employees may log in/out through any internet enabled device or through our EHR home page www.NetPEO.com using a unique login ID and password.
